It's network settings are correct because I can ping a google IP address and connect to gmail's smtp server, but when I go to scan to this email address it says: "Authentication with the destination has failed. Just enter the user code using Safari and save in the preset. If you are going to use "User Codes" to control color this can also be setup in the MAC driver.

When using CUPS you must Enable the local web interface for it to work. I just never use it as it is so much simpler to just set the preset in the driver. Though through CUPS you can set the defaults. MAC can not be set to default B&W as easily as Windows. Of course after confirming if PS is installed. Install the driver, then install the printer. Just go to the Ricoh web site and download the PS driver for the MACS. Chances are a MAC user noticed a new color machine and tried to set it up on their own.ĭon't worry so much about CUPS. You should also see PCL, PCL5c, PCL6, RPCS, XPS on the same line.Ĭhances are the machine does not have PS and MAC's are pretty good about finding the machine and driver. Look for the line "Printer Language, usually 3rd or 4th from the top. To check do the following: Utility Tool/Counter, Print Features, Configuration Page. Just not too familiar with it to know the answers to my questions above.ĭoes the copier have Post Script (PS) installed. So guys.any thoughts on the CUPS question? I used it once in the past and it seemed to help. I've done what you've mentioned to Windows systems before and it does help. But, I will keep your idea in my back pocket in case epieenburg's recommendation doesn't pan out.Įpiepenburg, any thoughts about a script (Mac version) that might work in this case? I'm not exactly new to the Mac, but in a sense I am.

Everyone has denied sending print jobs to the printer when this event occurs. Once it is returned to the network, it runs fine regardless of who prints to it.for a while. Right now, in order to get the job to stop printing, I have to remove it from the network physically and then reboot the copier as going through the copier's control panel to cancel the job doesn't seem to work. The problem I have is that this happens so randomly. Thanks so much for your quick replies! LarryG, I think that's a good idea.
